This week Margaret took a step forward -- literally! I was holding her hands on Wednesday night while she was standing in front of me, and she moved her feet forward to start taking some steps. She was pretty excited about it and started doing a marching type step and took a few more steps. This seems like the start of the back-breaking stage of learning to walk...
She also has had her last night in her basinette. Last night around 7pm she wanted to go to sleep. Because we don't have a baby monitor in our room I took her upstairs and put her in her crib in what used to be called Max's room. She slept for about 5 hours before demanding to be fed. Max was VERY excited that the baby was sleeping in his room and insisted on sleeping with his head at the end of his bed where he could see her.
After she woke up to eat I moved her to her basinette for easy feeding. She got up a few more times in the night. I looked at her this morning to make sure I would remember seeing my tiny little baby filling up her basinette!
We leave tonight for our vacation and when we come home she will be sleeping in her crib all the time. She's just too big to sleep in the basinette. She can almost sit up by herself. And if she is sitting up she is trying to pull herself up. The sides just aren't tall enough for that and she could very easily fall out. So the time has come...
In other news, it looks like BA has moved our seats on our flight to make it possible for us to use their cot that attaches to the wall of the plane! Here's hoping!

Official Photos - 6 Months
We took Margaret, in her mommy-knit dress and socks, with her Tea Time Knitting-knit blanket, and had her 6 month pictures taken yesterday. Thanks to the Tea Time Knitters -- Angie, Hayley, Joanna, and Wendy. Special thanks to Hayley for doing all the sewing up!
The first picture is the one we decided was the best, because we loved her little smile. You can see the socks in some of the other pictures. :)

Finally my internet connection is fixed...
And I can post more pictures of Margaret!! :)
Margaret can now sit up by herself for a few minutes. She's passing toys from one hand to the other. She also reaches down to pick up toys that she has dropped. She isn't stacking blocks on top of each other but she is definitely trying to pick up blocks. She was also enjoying playing with the pieces of Max's toy kitchen and has had fun playing with Mr Potato Head with Max.
Meg and Daddy!

Happy 4th of July!
Too cool...
Thanks Renee
Thanks Krista!
Margaret learning to like spending a little time alone in the playpen. At least when it comes with a rattle and a music box!
